Hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat excessive fluid accumulation and swelling (edema) of the body caused by heart failure, cirrhosis, chronic kidney failure, corticosteroid medications, and nephrotic syndrome. It is sometimes used alone or in conjunction with other blood pressure pills to treat high blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide can be used to treat calcium containing kidney stones by decreasing the amount of calcium excreted in the urine. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your veterinarian.
Hydrochlorothiazide is a generic medication, and therefore we may have different manufacturers at any given time. Tablets may vary in appearance. Most hydrochlorothiazide tablets are scored.
